John Lewis & Waitrose choose SFL
SFL deliver technical production and creative set design for John Lewis and Waitrose council meetings.
John Lewis, Waitrose and the John Lewis Partnership hold council meetings four times a year; these are key events in the companies’ calendars where elected councils formed of representatives from branches across the country gather to discuss and direct the future of the business.
SFL provide full technical production including sound, lighting, video, and custom built sets.
At the Odney Club in Cookham John Lewis, Waitrose and JLP council meetings are supported by a free-standing set with in-built projector screens for 180º presentations. Video content comes from live cameras and presentations, controlled using Barco PDS902 switcher/scalers. 4 HD cameras capture the main council meetings and a live video mix is produced for web streaming to John Lewis stores around the country where partners can follow along, helping partners to engage with the company’s unique democratic management model.
Audio is distributed throughout the venue using L’Acoustics’ 8XT loudspeakers and Shure QLX-D radio mics are located on every table so councillors can participate from the floor as well as the podium.
Elsewhere SFL were tasked with providing full technical production services for the Waitrose AGM in Birmingham.
Here SFL deployed double stacked Barco HDX projectors to deliver a stunning central projection screen, with delay screens powered by Christie LHD700’s and a range of plasma screens in various breakout venues. Distributed audio was again provided using d&b E3 loudspeakers.
All the council events rely heavily on SFL’s bespoke set solutions, designed by Operations Director Nathan Lambert and custom manufactured uniquely for the client in-house.
